The main areas of research activities in St. Petersburg school of medical (clinical) psychology
Abstract
This article reflects the main areas of the studies in clinical psychology carried out by the scientific team of the department of Medical Psychology and Psychophysiology of St. Petersburg State University. It is noted that these studies have promoted the traditions of a comprehensive study of personality in terms of disease and increased risk of development pathology founded by the basic studies of V. M. Bekhterev, A. F. Lazursky, V. N. Myasishchev, B. G. Ananiev. Major research prospects include theory and methodology of clinical psychology, empirical research in various areas of clinical and preventive medicine, child clinical psychology (clinical psychology of childhood), theory and practice of psychotherapy, psycho-physiological research, development of new methods of clinical psychodiagnostics.
